Mod Monday - Follower Commentary Overhaul

I like chatty followers. I enjoy their comments on the environment or the quest at hand. Because my internet is slow and my computer isn't very beefy, I can't enjoy the benefits of Interesting NPCs. If you want to save computer space and have more immersive followers, check out Follower Commentary Overhaul by terzaerian

The magic of Follower Commentary Overhaul give every follower of each voice-type access to more lines of dialogue. Now this doesn't mean that you can talk to them, they just talk at you while you run around. If you are in a cave your follower might comment on it. The same goes with dwarven ruins, cities, holds, and so much more.

The lines do get repetitive after awhile, but it's still more enjoyable than stale old lines or even none at all. All this means is that it's time to run with a follower of a different voice-type.

Some of the most repetitive lines as of late are: "Have you seen that Shrine of Azura...", "I once shot a bear at 300 yards. In a blizzard.", and my personal favorite "Fine. But you're wrong anyway!" I tend to yell back "Shut up hubby! I'm right! I'm always right!" I still like the blizzard one, simply because my follower is supposed to be a Dark Brotherhood Assassin. The Azura one however, gets old quick, "I am shoving the Star of Azura in your FACE! I have done the quest already!" *smack* "Sorry. It's okay, I still love you."

Even though some lines may be repetitive, I still recommend checking out this mod. It is a different way of adding some depth to your followers.

Mod Monday - Character Creation Overhaul

So, as I've said before, I really got into role playing with my Skyrim characters. Yeah vanilla Skyrim is wonderful for this but it needed a little extra umph and the Character Creation Overhaul by Syclonix gave it just what I needed.

Main image on the Nexus page.

One of my friends introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons and I liked the feel of it but I still craved my good old-fashioned Skyrim. The Overhaul helps add some of the Dungeons and Dragons feel to Skyrim by adjusting different stats for all races and both genders. It also allows you to choose one of the Standing Stones to have as a birthstone so you don't have to run all over the map to find your favorite.

Initial dialogue box that opens after creating your character at Helgen.

It also reuses the class system from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion so those of you who transferred in will feel right at home. If you don't like any of the preexisting classes you can also make your own! Have a preexisting character you want to have a birthstone and class? No problem! When you boot up your previous save, a dialogue box will open and ask if you want to add them!

The Character Creation Overhaul is essential to creating dynamic characters in Skyrim who will have to try harder to succeed with different skills. I love it and recommend that any Skyrim role players out there check it out!

Introduction to the Daedric Princes Part 1

In Skyrim, I tend to follow the Daedric Princes. I know that others probably revolt against them at every turn, but personally, they are in control of so much I would be worried about them crushing my bones. Anyway, no matter which way you swing, the Daedric Princes are important in Skyrim, and across all of Tamriel. This is Part 1 of 4 on a brief overview of the Princes as they appear in Skyrim. I have also include the rewards from their quests.

Skyrim Calendar

Awhile back when I was even more obsessed with Skyrim than I was now, I made a calendar. A Skyrim calendar, in case you were wondering. I thought that it was ridiculous that Bethesda hadn't come out with a calendar that had Tamriel's month and day names. So I made one in Adobe Illustrator. This is an old project so it is by no means perfect but I decided to "release" it anyway (and maybe come out with a 2016 one in December).

Each page is average letter size so you can print it on your printer (and since the internet is intelligent, I'll let you work out the rest of the process). I pulled the images from the internet a long time ago and cannot cite their sources accurately so I won't post them. If I do come out with a 2016 calendar, the images will be my personal screenshots so we won't have this issue. (Note: There are a fair amount of errors in this calendar: it's supposed to be Hearthfire not Heartfire, June and July are both Sun's Height... I am not going to fix them, but I'll make sure that 2016 is correct.)

All of the calendar is on Flickr, but here I'll showcase the remaining months of this year:

September - Hearthfire

October - Frostfall

November - Sun's Dusk

December - Evening Star

Iron Helmets

The iron helmet has been around the block, to say the least. Anyone who plays Skyrim or who has heard of it knows what the iron helmet looks like even if they know nothing else about it. Many people have different opinions about it (like it sucks) but it is infamous none the less.

At the very beginning of the game, the iron helmet has a base armor of 15, a weight of 5, and a base value of 60. These stats (except for weight) will increase with time, but the iron helmet will never be as good as any other heavy armor helmet in-game. No matter how high of a level you attain, the iron helmet will still suck in terms of other armor.

There are many different memes using a Skyrim character in an iron helmet. Even ones that reference the iron helmet itself:

Well, it definitely doesn't fit my style...

However, there are no words for this picture:

But the iron helmet is highly regarded in the gaming community (mainly by those who haven't played Skyrim and realize how terrible it is). Here are a few examples:
